Asian Pear Sauce with Cinnamon
- 4 whole Asian Pears
- 10 cups Water
- 1 bunch Small Basil Leaves
- 1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract
- 1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar
- Ground Cinnamon, As Desired
- 1.
- Peel skin off of the pears, then core them and quarter them.
- 2.
- In a large pot, place peeled pears.
- Add water and add basil leaves.
- Add lid and turn heat to high.
- Once water starts to boil, then reduce heat to low, and simmer pears over low heat for 40 minutes.
- 3.
- After 40 minutes of simmering, take out the basil leaves and throw them away.
- 4.
- Add cooked pears into a blender.
- Add vanilla extract and brown sugar and blend.
- 5.
- Transfer to a bowl and add cinnamon on top.
- Place over potato cakes or whatever you desire.
