sourdough soft pretzels

  1. mix first six ingredients together well, knead until smooth by hand or in mixer(about 5 min)
  2. dough will be slightly sticky, cover and let rise til doubled.
  3. preheat oven to 350. divide dough into 12 pieces.
  4. roll each piece into 16 to 18 inch ropes.
  5. twist into pretzels shape and set on greased cookie sheet.
  6. mix 2 tbsp.
  7. hot water and 1 tbsp baking soda.
  8. brush onto shaped dough.
  9. sprinkle with kosher salt as desired.
  10. bake without rising again for 20-25 min.
  11. brush with melted butter when out of the oven.
  12. enjoy!
