Bread Pudding With Rum Sauce Recipe
- 3 Large eggs, slightly beaten
- 3/4 c. white sugar
- 3 c. lowfat milk
- 1 lg. apple, unpeeled, diced into sm. bits
- 3 c. bread cubes
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/2 c. raisins
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- To make pudding; combine Large eggs, sugar and lowfat milk.
- Stir in apple, bread cubes, juice, raisins and vanilla.
- Pour into buttered casserole.
- Top with bits of butter and sprinkle with a little sugar and nutmeg.
- Bake in a 350 degree oven till brown on top and pudding is set.
- (It should take at least 40 min.)
- To make rum sauce; combine lowfat milk, sugar and butter.
- Bring to a boil.
- In another bowl, combine water and flour.
- Stir till smooth.
- Stir into warm lowfat milk mix.
- Cook over medium heat till thick.
- Remove from heat and stir in nutmeg and rum.
