Margarita Martini

  1. Combine the tequila, lime juice and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker with ice.
  2. (To make a batch of simple syrup, simmer equal parts sugar and water in a saucepan until the sugar dissolves, then cool.)
  3. Shake well, then strain into a chilled martini glass; salt the rim, if desired.
  4. Garnish with mint.
