Potato chop
- 12 potatoes peeled and chopped
- 1 tbsp salt
- 2 lb lean ground beef
- 2 onion, chopped
- 3 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 egg beaten
- 1 clove chopped garlic
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp 7 spice
- 1/2 cup chopped parsley
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- Peel potatoes and boil them with 1 TBS of salt until they are soft drain n set aside to cool down
- Chop onion n garlic n set aside
- In a frying pan add 3 TBS oil+ onions and garlic ...add the parsley and fry until soft ...once soft add beef and mix together add all spices and continue to cook until meat is well done then remove from heat and let it cool down
- Mash the potatoes until nice and smooth add in crumbs n egg mix together
- Take a small amount of potatoes and form in to a ball
- With your thumb make a well in the middle
- Add some of the meat mixture in the middle
- Then pinch the potato over the meat so it closes and flatten it by patting it together making sure no meat is visable
- In a deep frying pan add some cooking oil bout half the pan and allow the oil to get really hot before adding them in or they will fall apart if the oil is not hot enough... Place about 5 at a time...flip them over few times while cooking but the first flip make sure it lightly golden first so it don't fall apart
- Once they are nice n golden remove to some paper towel
- Serve with your favourite side
