Old Fashioned Beef Stew(Crockery Cooking)
- 2 lb. beef
- 1/2 c. flour
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire
- 1 large chopped onion
- 1/2 tsp. marjoram
- 1 cube bouillon
- 1 c. hot water
- 2 tsp. salt/sugar
- 6 carrots, sliced thin
- 1 c. celery, sliced thin
- 4 potatoes, cut in eighths
- 4 c. water
- Coat beef with flour; set excess flour aside.
- In large skillet, brown meat on all sides in oil.
- In crock-pot put veggies on bottom, top with beef and remaining ingredients.
- Pour water over all.
- Cover and cook 8 to 10 hours.
- Turn control on high (remove meat).
- Use leftover flour mixed in 2 tablespoons water to thicken stew; stir in.
- Return meat to pot.
- Cover and cook for 15 minutes.
