Jam-on-Ham Sandwich

  1. Caramelized Apples & Onions: Heat saute pan on medium heat.
  2. Add butter; cook until melted.
  3. Stir in onions; cook until they start to wilt.
  4. Add apples; cook until apples are tender and onions are caramelized, stirring occasionally.
  5. Remove from heat.
  6. Stir in mustard.
  7. French Toast: Whisk eggs, milk and cinnamon until blended.
  8. Dip bread in egg mixture, turning to evenly moisten both sides of each slice.
  9. Add to skillet; cook until golden brown on both sides, turning once.
  10. For each serving: Top 1 French Toast slice with 2 ham slices, 2 Tbsp.
  11. Caramelized Apples & Onions, and 1 cheese slice.
  12. Broil until cheese is melted.
  13. Cover with second French Toast slice.
