Cowboy Style Chicken Fried Steak
- 4 pieces Cube Steak
- 2- 1/2 cups Buttermilk, Divided
- 2 cups All-purpose Flour
- 1/2 teaspoons Onion Powder
- 1/2 teaspoons Garlic Powder
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 1/2 teaspoons Black Pepper
- Vegetable Oil, For Frying
- 1 can (15 Oz. Can) Chili With No Beans, To Serve
- 1 cup Shredded Extra-Sharp Cheddar Cheese, To Serve
- Place steaks in a bowl and pour 2 cups of buttermilk over them and let sit for about 20 minutes.
- Season your flour with your spices and mix well, then drizzle in the remaining 1/2 cup of buttermilk and mix into the flour to form little clumps that will stick to the steak and make it extra crunchy.
- Once your steak is done sitting in the buttermilk, take it piece by piece and coat it in the flour, then place it in a frying pan thats been heated with about 1 1/2 inches of oil.
- Cook on each side about 6 minutes, or until done to your likeness.
- Drain your steaks and then move to a serving plate and spoon on heated up chili and sprinkle on cheese.
