Caramelized Onion, Ham & Pear Panini
- 3 qt. sweet onions, thinly sliced
- 72 slices sourdough bread, cut into 1/2-inch-thick slices
- 2-1/4 cups Philadelphia Light Brick Cream Cheese Spread, softened
- - baked ham, thinly sliced
- - firm ripe pears, thinly sliced
- 3 Tbsp. cracked black pepper
- Heat nonstick skillet sprayed with cooking spray on low heat.
- Add onions; cook until golden brown and reduced by half with jam-like consistency.
- For each serving: Spread 2 bread slices evenly with 1 Tbsp.
- (15 mL) cream cheese spread.
- Fill with 3/4 oz.
- (20 g) each onions and ham, 1-1/2 oz.
- (45 g) pears and 1/4 tsp.
- (1 mL) pepper.
- Grill sandwich in pre-heated panini grill sprayed with cooking spray 5 min.
- or until golden brown on both sides.
