Apple Chutney With Dried Cranberries Recipe
- 2 tsp Garlic, chopped
- 1 c. Onions, chopped
- 5 c. Tart apples, peeled and dice
- 1/2 c. Light-brown sugar, firmly pa
- 6 Tbsp. White wine vinegar
- 1/4 tsp Dry mustard
- 1/4 tsp Ginger, grnd
- 1/4 tsp Allspice, grnd
- 1/4 tsp Cloves, grnd
- 1/4 tsp Red pepper flakes
- Ds Salt 3/4 c Dry cranberries 1 tb Cornstarch; mixed with 2 tbs ; cool water
- sugar, vinegar, mustard, ginger, allspice, cloves, red pepper flakes and salt in 1 1/2-qt non-reactive saucepan.
- Bring to boil over high heat.
- Simmer, uncovered, till apples are tender, about 10 to 12 min, stirring occasionally.
- Add in cranberries and cornstarch mix to pan.
- Stir well to combine.
- Cook till cranberries are plumped and mix is thickened, about 3 min.
- Chill 2 days before serving.
- Can be refrigerated up to 1 month, or possibly frzn as long as 2 months.
- Serve chilled, or possibly at room temperature.
- Makes 3 c..
