Quick and Easy Marinara Sauce
- 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- 5 cloves Garlic, Crushed And Chopped
- 1-78 ounces, weight Chicken Breast, Cut In Strips (optional)
- 4 pieces Shrimp, Peeled, Deveined And Sliced (optional But Preferred)
- 2 Tablespoons Fresh Parsley, Chopped
- 20 leaves Fresh Basil (or More If Desired), Washed
- 1/2 Tablespoons Fish Sauce (more If Preferred)
- 1 can (425g Size) Whole Tomatoes, Crushed By Hands
- 2 dashes Salt
- 2 dashes Pepper
- 1 Tablespoon Cheese, Grated (any Quick-melt Will Do)
- Pour the olive oil into a skillet or pan and heat over medium heat.
- Youll notice that the oil is lighter when you move the pan around.
- Also, try breaking a toothpick in two.
- Dip both rugged ends in the pan; when it bubbles, the oil is ready.
- Add and saute the garlic when the pan is heated up.
- If using chicken, add the chicken when the garlic turns golden.
- Stir well and crush the chicken against the pan.
- Itll release more flavor into the dish.
- Add the shrimp when the chicken is no longer pink.
- Add the parsley and basil leaves at the same time.
- Stir well.
- Season the dish with the fish sauce and cook for about 2 minutes until shrimp is no longer pink.
- Add the tomatoes.
- Lower the heat and let the dish simmer.
- Leave it there for 5-7 minutes.
- Taste for seasoning and add more fish sauce if desired.
- Add the grated cheese.
- It should help lighten the tangy flavor of the sauce.
- Stir well until the all the cheese blends with the sauce.
- Let it simmer over low heat for another 5-10 minutes.
- Finally, taste it and add salt and pepper as needed.
