Cucumber Onion Pickles Recipe
- 12 lg. cucumbers
- 6 med. onions
- 1/4 c. salt
- 1 quart. vinegar
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 c. white granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 tbsp. turmeric
- 1 tbsp. dry mustard
- Wash, peel and slice cucumbers and onions.
- Cover with the salt and let set overnight.
- Bring vinegar and sugar to a boil.
- Mix mustard, turmeric and cornstarch in cool vinegar and add in to boiling mix.
- Drain cucumbers and onions; add in to vinegar solution and bring to a boil.
- Pack into warm, sterilized jars and seal at once.
