Chocolate Pistachio Orange Loaf

  1. Heat oven to 350F.
  2. Grease and flour 9x5-inch loaf pan; set aside.
  3. Combine sugar and butter in bowl.
  4. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy.
  5. Add eggs; continue beating until well mixed.
  6. Add sour cream, orange flavoring and orange zest.
  7. Continue beating, scraping bowl often, until creamy.
  8. Add flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda; beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until just mixed.
  9. (Do not overmix.)
  10. Stir in chocolate chips and ground pistachios.
  11. Spoon batter into prepared.
  12. Bake 60-70 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  13. (If browning too quickly, cover loaf with aluminum foil.)
  14. Cool 10 minutes; invert onto cooling rack.
  15. Cool completely.
  16. Combine powdered sugar and enough orange juice in bowl for desired glazing consistency.
  17. Drizzle over cooled bread.
