Boeuf a La Biere (Beer Beef Stew)
- 2 lbs boneless beef cubes
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 garlic clove, chopped
- 1 beer
- 1 cup beef broth
- 12 teaspoon marjoram
- 12 teaspoon thyme
- salt and pepper
- 3 carrots, cut to pieces
- 5 celery, cut to pieces
- 12 cup barley
- Heat oil and cook onion with garlic for 2 minutes.
- Add the beef and sprinkle with flour and paprika.
- Add salt and pepper and brown beef on each sides.
- Add beer, broth and herbs.
- Bring to a boil.
- Cover and let simmer for 1 1/2 hour.
- Add vegetables and barley.
- Continue cooking for 45 minutes.
