Boeuf a La Biere (Beer Beef Stew)

  1. Heat oil and cook onion with garlic for 2 minutes.
  2. Add the beef and sprinkle with flour and paprika.
  3. Add salt and pepper and brown beef on each sides.
  4. Add beer, broth and herbs.
  5. Bring to a boil.
  6. Cover and let simmer for 1 1/2 hour.
  7. Add vegetables and barley.
  8. Continue cooking for 45 minutes.
