Caramelized Onion & Sausage Cheese Dip
- 1 Tablespoon Butter
- 2 Tablespoons Canola Oil
- 1 whole White Onion, Thinly Sliced
- 1/2 teaspoons Cumin
- 1 teaspoon Ground Sage
- 4 ounces, weight Crumbled Pork Sausage
- 1/4 cups Grated Pepper Jack Cheese
- 1/2 cups Smoked Mozzarella Cheese, Shredded
- Bread Or Pita Chips, To Serve
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Grease an oval or square baking dish and set aside.
- In a skillet over medium heat, add butter, canola oil and sliced onions.
- Cook until onions start to turn golden, then reduce heat and cook another 15 minutes or until caramelized.
- Add cumin and sage, and stir well.
- Add crumbled sausage and cook, stirring, until no longer pink.
- Transfer into prepared oven dish and smooth out with a spatula.
- Top with cheeses and bake 10 minutes.
- Remove from oven.
- Serve with bread slices or pita chips.
