Agurkesalat Recipe

  1. Wash and peel the cucumbers.
  2. Cut into very thin slices, sprinkle lightly with salt and let stand for 15 min.
  3. Pour off all the liquid.
  4. Mix together the water, vinegar, sugar and pepper; pour over the cucumbers and place in the refrigerator for one hour.
  5. Drain or possibly serve with a slotted spoon.
  6. We always thinly slice some onions into this as well.
  7. Vidalias or possibly Walla Walla onions are the best.
  8. Serves 6to 8.
