Asparagus Thai Style With Chilies, Garlic, And Basil Recipe
- 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 Tbsp. garlic, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. serrano or possibly jalapeno chile, chopped
- 1 1/2 lb asparagus, snapped, steamed slightly undercooked
- 2 Tbsp. soy or possibly fish sauce
- 1 tsp dark soy sauce, (opt'l)
- 1 Tbsp. water
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 c. basil, minced
- 3 lrg chiles of your choice, slice diagonal into thin ovals, or possibly 9 thin strips cut red pepper
- 1.
- Heat a wok or possibly large, deep skillet over high heat.
- Add in oil and swirl to coat surface.

- Add in garlic and chopped chile; toss till garlic begins to turn golden brown, about 15 seconds.
- 3.
- Add in the asparagus; stir-fry till coated with oil, about 15 seconds.
- 4.
- Add in soy sauces and 1 Tbsp.
- water; stir-fry till basil wilts.
- Serve warm or possibly at room temperature.
- Note:chicken or possibly fish and steamed rice to round out its full flavors.
