Seriously Delicious! Easy Sweet and Spicy Steamed Chicken Drumettes
- 12 drumettes Chicken wing drumettes
- 4 tbsp Soy sauce
- 3 tbsp Sugar
- 3 tbsp Sake
- 3 tbsp Vinegar
- 3 tbsp Mirin
- 200 ml Water
- 1/2 tsp Grated garlic
- 1 tbsp Grated ginger juice
- 1 leek Japanese leek
- 1 tbsp Sesame oil
- Pat dry the drumettes.
- Put the sesame oil and the grated garlic into a frying pan and heat it up.
- Once it becomes fragrant, add in the drumettes.
- On medium-high heat, roll them around in the pan gently.
- Cook until the skins change color.
- Cut the leeks into 5cm long pieces and put them in.
- Then add in all the other ingredients.
- Bring it to a boil on medium heat and then cover with an otoshibuta, or drop lid.
- From time to time, move them around while boiling them.
- Once the sauce has cooked down about halfway, take off the lid and keep simmering until the sauce has cooked down about 90%.
- Finally, raise the heat to high and coat the wings in the sauce.
- Transfer to a serving plate and it's done!
