Grandmother's Popcorn Balls Recipe
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. white Karo
- 1/3 c. water
- 1/4 c. butter
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 quart. unseasoned popcorn
- Place sugar, Karo, water, butter and salt; set over heat.
- Stir till sugar dissolves.
- Continue cooking without stirring till syrup forms a brittle ball in cool water (270 degrees).
- Remove from stove.
- Add in vanilla and stir.
- Place corn in bowl and cover with syrup.
- Butter hands and form popped corn into balls.
- (When balls are cold, can wrap in colored cellophane.)
