Frosted Peanut Butter Brownies

  1. Heat 1 cup butter and 1/3 cup baking cocoa in a saucepan over low heat until butter melts; stir often.
  2. Remove from heat; set aside to cool slightly.
  3. Combine sugar, flour and salt in a large mixing bowl; blend in chocolate mixture.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla; spread in a greased jelly-roll pan.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center removes clean.
  6. Melt peanut butter; spread over warm brownies.
  7. Chill for 30 minutes.
  8. Melt marshmallows and remaining butter with milk in a heavy saucepan over low heat, stirring often; remove from heat.
  9. Whisk in remaining cocoa; gradually stir in powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
  10. Spread over peanut butter layer; refrigerate until firm, at least 20 minutes.
  11. Cut into squares to serve.
