Perfect Rice Every Time

  1. Put the rice and salt in a 2-quart saucepan, add 2 cups of water, and cover the pan with a tight-fitting lid.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to the lowest possible setting.
  3. Cook for 14 minutes.
  4. Turn off heat and let the rice steam in the pan for 5 more minutes.
  5. Fluff the rice with a fork.
