Plain Steamed Bread with Pancake Mix
- 1 bag Pancake mix
- 1 Egg
- 1 tbsp Vegetable oil
- 100 ml Milk
- 1 to 3 tablespoons Sugar
- 1 refer to steps 10 - 21 Steamed bread with banana, cocoa powder, raisins, cheese, brown sugar, yogurt, yomogi (Japanese mugwort), yuzu tea, and sweet potatoes
- 1 refer to steps 22 - 23 Chewy steamed bread
- For the plain version, mix the egg, vegetable oil, milk, and sugar together well.
- Add pancake mix into the mixture from Step 1.
- Mix with a rubber spatula and don't knead the dough.
- Press in the dough from Step 2 into a mold to divide.
- Align in a large and flat frying pan.
- Pour in approximately 1 cm of hot water and cover the pan.
- Steam for 12-14 minutes.
- Once they become full and fluffy, they're ready.
- You can use aluminum liners, silicon cups, and ramekins for the mold.
- If your pancake mix is 150 g per bag, then use 75 ml of milk instead.

- For sweet potato steamed bread, dice the sweet potatoes into 1 cm cubes, and cook.
- The easiest way will be microwaving it.
- Sweet potato will sink in if it's mixed into the dough, so place it on top in Step 3.
