Milano Cookies by Accident
- 34 cup butter, softened
- 34 cup shortening, room temperature
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 5 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 (12 ounce) package bittersweet chocolate chips, melted
- Cream butter, shortening and sugar until smooth.
- Beat in eggs and vanilla.
- Stir in dry ingredients thoroughly.
- Divide dough in half and wrap in plastic wrap and chill overnight.
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees .
- Unwrap one roll of dough and using a metal bench knife or a very sharp knife cut off cookies as thin as you can and place 1 apart on ungreased cookie sheet or parchment paper.
- Bake 6-8 minutes but DO NOT BROWN.
- Cool.
- Spread the melted chocolate between two of the cookies to make a sandwich.
