Chocolate Chip Snicker Doodles
- 2 3/4 cup flour
- 2 tsp cream of tartar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temp
- 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- preheat oven to 400
- in first small bowl.. using topping ingredients... mix both well and set aside.
- cookie: in another medium sized bowl.. sift together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt.
- set aside.
- in another medium sized bowl cream together the butter and the shortening.
- gradually add the sugar to the butter mix stopping to scrape down sides before each addition.
- continue until u have no sugar left.
- add eggs one at a time,.beating well after each egg is added.
- now add vanilla and beat well again.
- add half the flour and mix well.
- add second half of the flour and mix well again.
- stir in chocolate chips.
- prepare cookie sheets by lightly greasing them.
- take your cinnamon sugar mix and sprinkle a small amount on the cookie sheet only where the cookies are gonna go.
- see photo..
- place cookie dough on top of where you put the cinnamon mix.
- about a large teaspoon.
- sprinkle more cinnamon mix on top of the cookie.
- bake for about 11 minutes or until golden around the edges.
- cool on wire rack.
- serve
- hint.. it won't take on all of the cinnamon sugar you put on the bottom but it grabs the perfect amount..
- hint.. do not over cook or the cinnamon mix on the bottom will burn.
- makes about 35 cookies.
