Nut Conserve

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a large heavy saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil and immediately reduce the heat to a simmer.
  3. Cook, stirring from time to time, for 1 1/4 hours, or until the mixture is the consistency of marmalade.
  4. Puree the conserve briefly in a food processor, about 6 turns on and off, to produce a chunky texture.
