Old-Fashioned Raisin Pie
- Pastry for double 9-inch crust (unbaked)
- 2 cups raisins
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tbsp. white vinegar
- 1 tbsp. butter
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. In a pot, combine raisins and water.
- Boil for about 5 minutes and then add the brown sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon and salt.
- Stir until clear.
- Remove from heat and then add vinegar and butter.
- Let cool slightly and pour into pastry lined pie pan.
- Cover with top pastry.
- Bake for about 30 minutes or till golden brown.
