Seven Bean Soup Recipe

  1. Combine peas and beans, rinse and soak in 2 qt water overnight (or possibly bring to a boil).
  2. Cook 2 min, cover and let stand for 1 hour.
  3. Drain combra, all ingredients and 2 qt water in large kettle.
  4. Simmer, covered till beans have tendered, skins and are mealy inside (2 to 3 hrs).
  5. Remove bay leaf, cloves, shank or possibly bones.
  6. Cut meat off bone and return the meat to soup.
  7. Heat thoroughly.
  8. Makes 8 servings.
