Yes, Please....Turkey Chili
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 lb ground turkey (including dark meat, not just breast)
- 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (16 ounce) can black beans
- 1 (16 ounce) can pinto beans
- 1 (16 ounce) can red kidney beans
- 2 cups low sodium chicken broth
- 1 12 teaspoons sea salt
- 12 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (or granulated garlic)
- 2 teaspoons hot sauce (I use Tapatio)
- 2 teaspoons basil
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 12 teaspoon cumin
- 12 teaspoon paprika
- 14 teaspoon chipotle chili flakes
- 1 pinch cinnamon
- 12-1 ounce bittersweet chocolate
- In a large pot, saute onions and bell pepper in olive oil over medium heat.
- When onions become transluscent, add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Add ground turkey and cook until brown.
- Add all dry spices and Stir to incorporate.
- Add canned tomatoes, beans, chicken stock, and hot sauce and bring to a boil.
- Turn heat down to low and simmer for approximately 1 Hour.
- 1/2 way through simmer time, Add Chocolate.
- Serve with shredded cheese, and Sour Cream.
