Shrimp Flavored Beef over Rice
- 250 millilitres water
- 200 grams beef lean, diced, cheaper meat rather
- 3 teaspoons shrimp paste heaping, thai, seasoned, not fermented shrimp,
- 1 each cardamom pods black
- 150 grams sweet red bell peppers chopped
- 75 grams bamboo shoots sliced
- 2 each garlic cloves minced or pressed
- 1/2 teaspoon pepperoni red, minced
- 2 tablespoons dill weed chopped finely
- 1 pinch ajowan seeds
- 1 x salt and black pepper ground
- 100 grams long grain rice
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch heaping
- 1 - Pour in water into the pressure cooker.
- Toss beef, paste, garlic, black cardamon and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
- Cook for 20 minutes.
- In the meantime prepare the rest of ingredients inc. rice.
- 2 - Transfer all from the pressure cooker to another pot excluding scum, add red bell pepper, bamboo, dill and ajowan, bring to boil and simmer for 10 minutes under the cover.
- 3 - Thicken the sauce by mixing flour with the small amount of cold water in a small bowl, and by adding this mixture to the pot.
- Stir and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes.
- 4 - Serve over rice.
- If you're not extremely hungry, set this dish aside for 2 to 3 hours and then reheat.
