- 1 medium Egg
- 20 grams Sugar
- 3 grams Salt
- 5 grams Instant dry yeast
- 30 grams Unsalted butter
- 140 grams Milk
- 350 grams Coarsely mashed sweet bean paste, or smooth sweet red bean paste
- 1 Egg yolk
- 1 tsp Water
- Put the A ingredients into a bread maker.
- Start the "dough course" and wait until the 1st rising is finished.
- Remove from the bread maker and roll into a ball.
- Cover with a bowl and let it sit for 20 minutes.
- Divide into 12 portions and roll into balls again.
- Cover with a tightly wrung out kitchen towel to prevent them from drying.
- Wrap your desired amount of sweet red bean paste with the dough.
- Seal the seams together completely.
- Position the rolls with the seam side down.
- (Please leave enough space between the balls to allow them to double in size.)
- Let them rise (2nd rising) for about 40 minutes until they double in size.
- Preheat the oven to 200C.
- In the mean time, Mix the B ingredients well, and brush with this mixture evenly all over.
- Reduce the oven temperature to 190C, and bake for about 15 minutes, then they're done.
- It's also a great idea to set aside about 2 balls of bread without filling them with sweet red bean paste to use as decoration instead.
- Or like this.
