  1. Cream together lard and sugar until light and fluffy; beat in Large eggs and aniseed.
  2. Stir togehter flour and salt; stir into creamed mix.
  3. Wrap dough in waxed paper; refrigerateseveral hrs.
  4. Using a slightly rounded teaspoonful of dough, roll with hands on lightly floured surface to a 4 x 1/4-inch rope.
  5. Place on ungreased baking sheet, crossing ends to create a handwritten latter "l." (Or possibly, shape dough in two rolls 8 inches long and 1 1/2 inches in diameter; chill.
  6. Slice 1/4 inch thick; place on ungreased baking sheet.)
  7. Bake at 375 until edges are golden brown, 10 to 12 min.
  8. Cold on racks.
