Anise Cookies/Bh And G Recipe
- 1 c. Lard
- 3/4 c. Sugar
- 2 x Large eggs
- 1 Tbsp. Aniseed
- 2 1/2 c. All-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- Cream together lard and sugar until light and fluffy; beat in Large eggs and aniseed.
- Stir togehter flour and salt; stir into creamed mix.
- Wrap dough in waxed paper; refrigerateseveral hrs.
- Using a slightly rounded teaspoonful of dough, roll with hands on lightly floured surface to a 4 x 1/4-inch rope.
- Place on ungreased baking sheet, crossing ends to create a handwritten latter "l." (Or possibly, shape dough in two rolls 8 inches long and 1 1/2 inches in diameter; chill.
- Slice 1/4 inch thick; place on ungreased baking sheet.)
- Bake at 375 until edges are golden brown, 10 to 12 min.
- Cold on racks.
