Mexican Casserole

  1. Saute beef in skillet until pink disappears and the beef is crumbly.
  2. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add onion, garlic salt, tomato sauce and olives to beef.
  4. Combine dairy sour cream and cottage cheese with green chilies.
  5. Crush tortilla chips slightly, reserve a few whole for a garnish.
  6. Place one-half of the chips in the bottom of well-buttered 2 1/2 qt.
  7. casserole.
  8. Or coat with a spray (Pam).
  9. Add half the meat mixture, cover with one-half the sour cream mixture, sprinkle with half the grated cheese.
  10. Repeat layers.
  11. Bake uncovered in a 350F oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
