Prosciutto Wrapped Figs With Walnuts And Gorgonzola
- 18 large walnut pieces, toasted
- 3 tbsp Gorgonzola cheese
- 18 thin strips prosciutto (about 3 ounces total) Pieces should be about 1 inch by 5 inches
- 9 large fresh black Mission figs
- Preheat broiler.
- Cover a large rimmed baking sheet with foil.
- Wrap each fig half with 1 prosciutto strip.
- Place on baking sheet.
- Broil until prosciutto chars on the edges, about 1 1/2 minutes.
- Turn figs over.
- Broil about 1 1/2 minutes longer.
- Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.
- Place 1/2 teaspoon Gorgonzola on top of each fig half.
- Top each with a walnut piece.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
- *You can use dried figs as a substitute when fresh figs aren't in season.
