Hodgepodge Stew

  1. In a large saucepan or Dutch oven, bring water and 1 tsp.
  2. salt to a boil.
  3. Add beans, carrots and potatoes.
  4. Cook for 15 minutes.
  5. Add corn and peas.
  6. Cook an additional 5 minutes, or until tender.
  7. Drain, reserving 2 cups liquid.
  8. Set vegetables aside.
  9. In the same saucepan, combine reserved liquid, butter, cream, chives, pepper, paprika and remaining salt.
  10. Add vegetables and heat through.
