Vegas Brisket Chili
- 1/4 cup oil
- 3 cups Spanish onions, medium dice King Sooper's 1 lb For $0.99 thru 02/09
- ground sirloin
- 1-1/2 cups tomato paste
- 1-1/2 Tbsp. garlic, minced
- 2 Tbsp. chili powder
- 2 Tbsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. dried basil leaves
- 2 Tbsp. dried oregano leaves
- 2 tsp. ground black pepper
- 1 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1-1/2 qt. canned whole plum tomatoes, crushed with juice
- cooked beef brisket, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
- 3 cups red kidney beans, drained
- 6 Tbsp. Kraft BarBQ Sauce
- 1/4 cup fresh Italian parsley, chopped
- 2 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice Safeway 4 ct For $5.00 thru 02/09
- Heat oil in large stockpot on medium-high heat.
- Add onions; saute 10 min.
- or until tender.
- Add ground sirloin; cook until browned, stirring frequently.
- Drain.
- Reduce heat to low.
- Add tomato paste, garlic and seasonings; mix well.
- Stir in remaining ingredients; simmer, uncovered, 20 to 30 min.
- or until heated through, stirring occasionally.
