Everybody's Favourite Spring Rolls

  1. Cut the Chinese chives into 5 cm lengths.
  2. Shred the Japanese leek.
  3. Cut the shiitake mushrooms, and bamboo shoots into 5 mm cubes.
  4. Heat the sesame oil, cook the ground pork through, and season with salt and pepper.
  5. Add all the vegetables to the meat, flavour with the soy sauce and sake, then stir-fry.
  6. Thicken the sauce with the katakuriko dissolved in water, and the filling is ready.
  7. Let it cool for a little while.
  8. Wrap with spring roll wrappers (please refer to the instructions for wrapping the spring rolls on the package).
  9. Deep-fry them.
  10. Since the filling is already cooked through, they are ready when the wrappers turn golden brown.
