An Easy Method for Parboiling Greens
- 10 bunches Greens (I used spinach)
- 3 liter Hot water
- 3 liter Water
- I rinsed and removed the dirt and damaged parts from 10 bunches of spinach, and placed them in a bowl.
- *Prepare a colander and a bowl of water.
- Boil the water for parboiling in a pot.
- First, pour the boiling water over the stalks into the bowl, and soak in boiling water for a minute.
- After 1 minute, lay the greens on their side, and pour the remaining boiling water over the leaves, while stirring them up from top to bottom.
- Drain the greens in a colander right away to prevent overcooking.
- Transfer to the prepared bowl of water, then run cold water over them to cool.
- For spinach and other greens that are a bit bitter, soak in water for a while.
