Non-Fried Daigaku Imo Sweet Potatoes

  1. Wash the sweet potatoes.
  2. Roughly chop into 5-6 cm long, slightly thin slices.
  3. Put the slices into a bowl and soak in water.
  4. Drain.
  5. Put the ingredients into a frying pan and lightly mix together.
  6. Spread the ingredients out in the pan (this is to even out the flavor).
  7. Put the sweet potatoes on top, cover with a lid, turn on the heat, and steam-cook.
  8. When it comes to a boil, flip the potatoes occasionally (for about 15 minutes).
  9. When you can easily press a skewer through the potatoes, take off the lid.
  10. Coat the potatoes with the sauce as the water evaporates.
  11. Transfer to a plate and sprinkle black sesame seeds on top.
  12. Enjoy!
