Beth's Hail Mary Chili
- 1 lb ground beef (at least 10% fat for maximum flavor)
- 1 lb ground hot sausage
- 1 large green pepper, chopped
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 fresh jalapeno, minced
- 3 fresh garlic cloves, minced
- 1 (15 ounce) can black beans
- 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans
- 1 (28 ounce) can tomato puree
- 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
- 3 cups water
- 2 teaspoons cumin
- 3 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 12 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 12 teaspoon cinnamon
- Brown meats, then combine all ingredients together and cook on stove (or slow cook in crock pot) until peppers & onions are soft and liquid has reduced to your preference.
- I like to cook it very slowly for a few hours, but you can cook it faster and it'll still be good.
