Grandma's Sugar Cookies

• 12 cup butter
• 12 cup oil
• 12 cup powdered sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 egg
• 2 14 cups flour
• 12 teaspoon baking soda
• 12 teaspoon cream of tartar
• 12 teaspoon salt
• chocolate star, one for each cookie
• sugar, just enough to coat the bottom of glass with

1. Mix the butter, oil, powdered sugar, vanilla and egg.
2. Sift in the flour, soda, cream of tartar and salt.
3. Form 1" balls and flatten with sugar coated glass bottom.
4. Place chocolate star in center of cookie.
5. Bake 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
