Sugared Rye Cookies
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup rye flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon grated orange peel
- sugar
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- Combine butter, sugar and vanilla, and blend well.
- Mix in flours, baking soda, salt and orange peel.
- Form dough into 1" balls and place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
- Flatten each ball slightly, using a glass dipped in sugar.
- Bake until light golden brown, 10-14 minutes.
