Sugared Rye Cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Combine butter, sugar and vanilla, and blend well.
  3. Mix in flours, baking soda, salt and orange peel.
  4. Form dough into 1" balls and place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
  5. Flatten each ball slightly, using a glass dipped in sugar.
  6. Bake until light golden brown, 10-14 minutes.
