Microwave Recipe: Tuna Shells Recipe
- 1 (15 1/2 ounce.) jar spaghetti sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon instant chopped onion
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. sm. curd cottage cheese
- 1 (9 1/4 ounce.) can tuna, liquid removed & flaked
- 1 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese (about 4 ounce.)
- 2 tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 (2 ounce.) jar diced pimiento, liquid removed
- 1 tbsp. dry parsley flakes
- 20-25 uncooked jumbo macaroni shells, cooked, liquid removed & cooled
- Mix spaghetti sauce, Italian seasoning and instant onion; pour 1/2 c. into oblong baking dish, 12" x 7 1/2' x 2".
- Beat egg; stir in cottage cheese, tuna, Mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, pimiento and parsley.
- Fill macaroni shells with cheese mix.
- Arrange filled shells on sauce in dish.
- Spoon remaining sauce over shells, covering shells completely.
- Cover tightly and microwave on medium-high (70%) 5 min; turn dish one half turn.
- Microwave till warm, 5 to 8 min.
- Garnish with minced parsley if you like.
- 5 servings.
