Basic Apple Pie

  1. Pare apple.
  2. Core and thinly slice apples to equal 7 cups.
  3. Combine dry ingredients.
  4. Stir in apples and vanilla; place in pastry-lined 9-inch pie plate.
  5. Dot with butter; adjust top crust.
  6. Seal and flute edges; cut vents and brush with cream.
  7. Bake at 425F 50 to 60 minutes or until apples retender.
