Health Bread Recipe
- 6 c. lowfat milk, sour buttermilk or possibly yogurt
- 1 stick butter
- 6 tbsp. sugar
- 2 Packages yeast
- 1 or possibly 2 c. flour
- 2/3 c. wheat germ
- 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
- 4 or possibly more c. of unbleached flour
- 1 handful each of corn meal
- Oatmeal
- 2 handfull of favorite wheat cereal, crushed
- Heat lowfat milk, butter, salt and 6 Tbsp.
- sugar together.
- To scald cook to lukewarm.
- Mix together hot water, 1 Tbsp.
- sugar and yeast.
- Allow to proof.
- Add in yeast and lowfat milk in a large bowl.
- Mix grains adding sufficient white flour to make smooth dough.
- Knead 10 to 15 min.
- Let rise till double in greased bowl.
- Punch down shape into loaves.
- Let rise again till nearly doubled.
- Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.
