Splenda - Strawberry Jam

  1. Wash & cap berries.
  2. Smash with a potato masher.
  3. Get your canner ready .
  4. Filled with enough water to cover jars.
  5. Keep at a simmer till ready.
  6. Use a dry measuring cup to measure exact amount if prepared fruit.. Measure exact amount of sugar in a large bowl.
  7. ( Do Not reduce sugar).
  8. Combine 1/4 cup sugar & 1 package Sure-Jell for less or no sugar.in a small bowl.
  9. Stir in fruit.
  10. Bring mixture to a full rolling boil.
  11. ( a boil that does not stop when stirred).
  12. Stirring constantly.
  13. Stir in remaining sugar.
  14. Return to a full rolling boil.
  15. Boil exactly 1 minute.Stirring constantly.
  16. Remove from heat .
  17. Skim off foam.
  18. Ladle immediately into prepared jars.
  19. Filling to within 1/4" of tops.Wipe jar rims and threads.
  20. Cover with 2 piece lids.
  21. Screw bands tightly.
  22. Place jars on elevated rack in canner.
  23. Lower rack into canner.
  24. ( Water must cover jars 1-2".
  25. Cover and bring to a gentle boil.
  26. Process 10 minutes Remove jars .
  27. Allow to cool.
  28. Check seals.
  29. If not sealed.
  30. Refigeration is necessary.let stand 24 hours.
