Aunt Erma's Famous Caramel Frosting

  1. Melt brown sugar and butter in saucepan.
  2. Stir Constantly; add milk and bring to a boil.
  3. Cook and stir for 2 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Sift in powdered sugar.
  6. Add vanilla.
  7. Add enough additional milk to make of spreading consistency.
  8. Frost cake quickly as frosting tends to solidify.
