Bangladeshi Shish Kebob
- 1-1/3 lb. ground beef.
- 1 piece ginger
- 2 to 4 cloves garlic
- 1/2 onion
- 1/2 to 1 tsp. cumin powder
- 1 to 2 tsp. coriander powder
- 1 to 2 tsp. paprika powder
- 1 green chili pepper, diced (optional)
- 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper (optional)
- 2/3 tsp. salt (to taste)
- 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
- 2 tbsp. vinegar
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup sour cream
- Blend together uncooked ground beef, sour cream, garlic, onion, ginger and spices with half the oil.
- Marinate for 30 minutes to overnight.
- Roll the ground beef into a 5-inch thick log on a slightly-flour covered surface.
- Pre-heat oven to 375F.
- Grease a non-stick baking pan.
- Put the rolled beef on this pan and and bake for 25 minutes.
- Increase temperature to 475F and let bake for 5 minutes.
- Then set oven to broil and allow it to bake for another 1 to 1-1/2 minutes.
- Remove from oven.
- Serve with minced cucumber, onion and/or tomatoes or ketchup.
