Slow Cooker Chicken and Sausage Cacciatore
- 2 Medium Yellow Onions
- 3 Green Bell Peppers
- 3 pounds Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breast (w/ Rib Meat)
- 2 pounds Hot Italian Sausage, Cut Into Thirds
- 1 pound Mushrooms
- 28 ounces, fluid Tomato Sauce
- 4 cloves Garlic
- Italian Seasoning
- Red Cayenne Pepper
- Pasta, If Desired For Serving
- Chop onions and peppers and add them into a large slow cooker.
- Lay chicken breasts on top of the vegetables, trying not to let breasts touch (they may stick together).
- Put the sausage on top of the chicken.
- Wash the mushrooms, and place them over the meat.
- Pour tomato sauce over all the ingredients.
- Chop garlic, and throw it on top.
- Sprinkle some Italian seasoning and red cayenne pepper over the top if you want a little heat.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 46 hours.
- After 4 hours, chicken can be shredded if desired.
- Mix it up and serve.
- Goes great with pasta.
