Slow Cooker Chicken and Sausage Cacciatore

  1. Chop onions and peppers and add them into a large slow cooker.
  2. Lay chicken breasts on top of the vegetables, trying not to let breasts touch (they may stick together).
  3. Put the sausage on top of the chicken.
  4. Wash the mushrooms, and place them over the meat.
  5. Pour tomato sauce over all the ingredients.
  6. Chop garlic, and throw it on top.
  7. Sprinkle some Italian seasoning and red cayenne pepper over the top if you want a little heat.
  8. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 46 hours.
  9. After 4 hours, chicken can be shredded if desired.
  10. Mix it up and serve.
  11. Goes great with pasta.
