Granny's Iced Walnut Brownies

  1. preheat oven to 400 and grease a square baking pan.
  2. in a large heavy saucepan over low heat melt 8 tablespoons butter and chocolate stirring constantly.
  3. remove from heat and stir in sugar, 2 teaspoons vanilla and eggs one at a time.
  4. Blend in flour and walnuts.
  5. spread in pan and bake 18-20 minutes until brownies start to pull apart from edges of pan.
  6. to preapre frosting in a medium bowl with electric mixer beat remaining butter and vanilla until creamy.
  7. at low speed gradually add powdered sugarand cocoa alternating with milk until frosting is smooth and fluffy.
  8. Spread over brownies and cut into 16 squares.
