Granny's Iced Walnut Brownies
- 14 tablespoons butter, divided
- 4 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate
- 1 12 cups sugar
- 2 14 teaspoons vanilla extract, divided
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup flour
- 14 cup chopped walnuts
- 2 14 cups powdered sugar
- 12 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 4 tablespoons rice milk
- preheat oven to 400 and grease a square baking pan.
- in a large heavy saucepan over low heat melt 8 tablespoons butter and chocolate stirring constantly.
- remove from heat and stir in sugar, 2 teaspoons vanilla and eggs one at a time.
- Blend in flour and walnuts.
- spread in pan and bake 18-20 minutes until brownies start to pull apart from edges of pan.
- to preapre frosting in a medium bowl with electric mixer beat remaining butter and vanilla until creamy.
- at low speed gradually add powdered sugarand cocoa alternating with milk until frosting is smooth and fluffy.
- Spread over brownies and cut into 16 squares.
