Beef Stew(Caldereta Style)

  1. Cut beef into desired sizes.
  2. Marinate for an hour or two with: garlic, vinegar, soy sauce, peppercorn or powder, salt to taste, Pirim's sauce (squeeze of liquid from meat and fry with just enough oil until brown).
  3. Then add a little water (enough to cook), sliced onion, pickles, olives, tomato sauce or paste, bay leaf, red pepper (sliced), the liquid off the meat and a little sugar.
  4. Cook until tender (pressure cooker only 15 minutes).
  5. This is a Philippine food.
